Day 2: Mechanical Design Considerations

  • Mechanical testing and mechanical materials properties
  • Mechanical Test Requirements, Charpy Impact, Hardness, etc.
  • Additional Failure Types, Fracture and Fatigue
  • Support types, spans, expansion loops and expansion joints
  • Stress analysis examples, thermal expansion
  • Maximum allowable pressure and wall thickness calculations and corrosion allowance

Day 3: Pipeline Corrosion Damage and Corrosion Mitigation

  • Corrosion principles
  • Types corrosion; Uniform, Hydrogen induced, Stress Corrosion Cracking, etc.
  • Cathodic Protection; Sacrificial Anodes, Impressed Current
  • Pipeline Coatings

Day 4: Pipeline Maintenance and Inspection

  • Pigging methods for cleaning
  • Pigging Inspection
  • Hot Tapping, line stoppling
  • Hydro-testing
  • Inspection (NDT) techniques, x-ray, ultrasonic, holiday detection, etc.

Day 5: Inspection and Codes

  • Overview of ASME B31, API, etc., pipe design codes
  • Welding requirements and Inspection
  • Pipe repair consideration
  • Overview of API 570 Pipe Inspection Code

Our cancellation policy varies depending on the circumstances presented.
